About Me

Kristin Dillon lives in metro Atlanta, GA with her husband and 2 fur babies. As a self-taught artist, her journey began on the internet, without formal training. She turned to art to bring joy and playfulness into her life, especially during difficult times. These experiences have become the creative fuel for her work, driving her to explore and express the complexities of life through her paintings.

“My creative process begins with what I call the “chaos layer.” In this initial stage, I let go of all inhibitions, splashing paint and making marks without a plan. This phase is messy and unrefined. It’s a stage of pure play and freedom, where the focus is on creating a visual representation of imperfection and spontaneity.

Layering is a crucial aspect of my technique. I build up my paintings with multiple layers, each one adding depth and complexity until the piece begins to feel complete. This process mirrors the way emotions and experiences accumulate and evolve over time.

In my work, I aim to convey a sense of freedom, grit, and imperfection, I believe that art should evoke feelings, whatever they may be, and that no reaction to a piece is wrong. My hope is that viewers will connect with the sense of authenticity and emotional depth in my art, finding their own meanings and feelings within the layers”.
